Impact Partner – Wilderness Society

The Wilderness Society seeks to iconise natural places of outstanding universal value, reduce the power of vested interests and raise the profile of community rights in environmental decision-making. By advocating for the need to protect and restore native vegetation, the Wilderness Society seeks to protect the critical habitat and future health of WA’s threatened black cockatoo species.

Impact Partner – WA Forest Alliance

The WA Forest Alliance through its member group the Save the Black Cockatoos is working to protect the habitat of all three species of black cockatoo. WAFA is working to protect the Northern Jarrah Forest from strip mining and other threatening processes. WAFA.org.au

Black Cockatoo Crisis

We are calling for changes in legislation to better protect threatened and endangered species in Australia; a moratorium on clearfelling Perth’s northern pine plantations; legislation to enforce seals on trucks to stop grain spillage; reviews of pesticide use to prevent poisonings; no new mines in cockatoo habitat or nesting areas; and an end to the shooting slaughter of our cockatoos.
